I Tried Sora 2. It's Insanely Good at Manipulating Emotion
Well, after a week of begging friends, cold-emailing colleagues, and refreshing my app, I finally got access to OpenAI’s much-covered Sora 2 video generator.
I tested it today. It creates amazing videos, complete with synchronized audio. But I’ve found so far what it’s best at is manipulating human emotion.
I’ve been testing using it to create the kinds of overly dramatic, heart-string-tugging short clips that have come to dominate platforms like TikTok, Facebook and YouTube Shorts.
A near miss between an elderly woman and an E-Bike on a trail? Sora 2 can make it! Ragebait where a man confronts a woman in a supermarket about bringing in her dog? The system delivers.
I’ll have a lot more to say about Sora 2. But for now, here’s a video I made about its insane ability to manipulate human emotion—complete with some of the examples I listed above, and more (watch on Youtube).
