New Data Shows Google is Winning the AI Search Wars
Google had a rough start to the year. Little upstarts like OpenAI, Perplexity and Anthropic were nipping at its heals, and slowing stealing market share.
Google had lost about 1.5% market share in search as of the middle of this year. That’s a loss of billions in ad revenue.
And worse for Google, their loss was their AI-powered rivals’ gain. Just as Google shed market share, ChatGPT/Claude/Perplexity picked it up.
Now, that trend has reversed. Google is fighting back in the AI Search Wars. And new data from BrightEdge, a massive SEO company serving most members of the Fortune 500, shows that Google is winning.
I got to do an exclusive interview with Jim Yu, CEO of BrightEdge, to learn more. Here’s a video I made breaking down what I learned, and what it means for the future of AI search (watch on YouTube).
